YAKIMA, WA -- A Yakima fundraiser played up the state's biggest rivalry to raise money for the holiday season.
The Kiwanis Club hosted the second annual Apple Cup Luncheon Friday as fans prepare for the big game between Washington and Washington State next Friday. Husky Hall of Famer and former Seahawk, Nesby Glasgow was Friday's keynote speaker.
A lot of jokes were told at both teams' expense and organizers say that's part of the fun that surrounds the Apple Cup Rivalry.
"There's that friendly rivalry between the Huskies and the Cougars," Kiwanis Club Member Cami Leonard-Corbin said. "You can always get people to come out and support their team."
The event included the Eisenhower High School band, a football toss and a raffle.
