PASCO, WA - Saturday in Pasco volunteers took an initiative to make their community look a bit nicer, all while getting a little trashy.
Along with the Downtown Pasco Development Authority, people came out Saturday morning to pick up trash and literally sweep the streets clean. There were cub scouts, city council members and people of all ages working together. They started at Peanuts Park and from there worked down Lewis street.
"We want to put our best foot forward in everything we do. Given the Farmers Market and everyone that comes down here, we want to make sure it's a clean place for everyone to just enjoy," said Michael Goins the Executive Director of the Downtown Pasco Development Authority.
This was the first clean up Pasco event, but they hope to hold similar community projects every month to make downtown a friendlier and welcoming place.
