WSP: Driver Who Fell Asleep Causes Head-On Crash On Hwy. 27

UPDATE: A driver who fell asleep is being blamed for causing a head-on crash on Hwy. 27 just south of Freeman on Tuesday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol. The driver who fell asleep is identified as 19-year-old Destinee Lake of Spokane Valley. Lake was transported to Sacred Heart via Medstar after crossing the center line and hitting another vehicle head-on.

The driver of the other vehicle is identified as 56-year-old Shannon Crewse of Rockford. Crewse was transported to Sacred Heart via ambulance. The extent of injuries for both of the victims are not known.

KHQ.COM - On Tuesday morning emergency crews responded to a head-on crash on Highway 27 just south of Freeman. Medstar was dispatched to the scene. The extent of injuries are not known. So far none of the victims have been identified as we await a press release from authorities.

Southbound traffic was diverted at Elder Rd. to Rockford and Northbound traffic was being detoured at Rockford and directed to Elder Rd while crews worked to clear the scene.

    LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) - An Idaho tribe has joined a lawsuit against opioid manufacturers and distributors.    The Lewiston Tribune reports the Nez Perce Tribe said in a release that a lawsuit was filed Friday in Idaho's U.S. District Court that targets opioid distributor McKesson Corp., the only supplier of the addictive pain relievers to the tribe's clinic, Nimiipuu Health.
