NEAR MEDICAL LAKE, WA - The Washington State Patrol says a Mattawa woman was killed in an accident on I-90 near Cheney/Medical Lake.

The driver of a pick-up truck was heading eastbound on Interstate 90 when the driver lost control in the icy conditions and went off the road.

The Washington State Patrol says 38-year-old Herlinda Alzate-Berrera was killed when the car she was a passenger in was struck by a semi-truck that swerved to avoid an oncoming truck that had crossed the median after losing control. Troopers say the crashes happened after driving too fast for conditions.

CHENEY, WA - The Washington State Patrol says there has been a fatal accident on I-90 near Cheney/Medical Lake.

Right now the eastbound lanes are closed on I-90 at milepost 264, west of the Four Lakes exit. Troopers say it could be several hours before the lanes reopen. West bound traffic is down to just one lane and moving very slowly.

The State Patrol says a semi drove off of I-90 and landed down on a roadway. Troopers haven't said how many cars or people may have been involved in the collision.
