NBCRightNow.com - The growing season is now at it's end in Yakima, but this year the region saw an increase in agriculture workers.

The Yakima Employment Security Department said agriculture jobs in the area jumped more than 19%, which is about 7,000 more jobs than last year.

In Benton and Franklin counties, agricultural employment went up by 6%.

Seasonal jobs for the summer also saw a healthy increase of about 17% which is about 4,000 more than last summer due to better growing conditions and more crops, however it went down 14% in the Tri-Cities area because of poor apple crops.
