RICHLAND, WA - People all over the country spent part of Thursday eating traditional Thanksgiving meals. For those that, for whatever reason, couldn't do it on their own, the Salvation Army offered them a place to go.

In Richland, a few hundred people stopped by for the free meal. A total of about 50 volunteers made it happen and everyone was welcome.

"I had a person come into me this morning and say, thank you for doing this. I lost my job, I'm in the process of moving. I could not cook a meal and I heard about the salvation army doing a thanksgiving meal and I'm here. It's like, yes, that's why we do it," said Major Julio Vasquez of the Salvation Army.

Volunteers carved up about 30 turkeys for this feast and also delivered some meals.
