UNION GAP, WA -- "It's literally everything down to the hour, my team that was out there with me since 9:00 p.m. had a schedule," said Union Gap Cabela's Marketing Manager, Haley Weston.

But it does not all just happen overnight, stores plan for Black Friday when most of us are still on summer vacation.

"It's a lot of hours and a lot of hard work and you know it's months and months of planning and prep and coordinating from a merchandise side and then from scheduling and planning for today, which is a very unique day to schedule for," Said the store's General Manager, Christ Fletcher.

Fletcher said because they start getting the store ready six months before Black Friday, once the day is here, it is like they have been training to run a marathon.

"We bring them water and snacks and everything like that, we're doing raffle prizes throughout the day for the employees, everyone that showed up today just to kind of keep everybody energized," Fletcher said.

The store's marketing team also plans their mailer ad strategies out to make sure everything goes smoothly.

"It takes a while to get 50,000 ads out to the local community," Weston said.

And relaxing needs to hold off for one more day.

"We're just finally glad that it's here.  It's a lot of prep and so that's out Thanksgiving or Christmas is the day after Black Friday.  We can kind of relax and all that prep ends right here," Fletcher said.

But it does not last long.

"Next year I want bigger and badder and better.  I have all these little critiques, and I'm literally going to go to my office tomorrow and write a recap of what I want to do differently," Weston said.
