KENNEWICK, WA - People may be buying electronics and sweaters as popular holiday gifts, but local wineries are selling cases of wine just as quickly as people are buying other hot items.
People were taking advantage of wine case deals Friday and filling up trunk loads of wine for gifts and holiday parties.
At Tagaris Winery, they had a special sale for $40 a case Friday.
Some people bought dozens of cases at once. The winery sold out of some type of wines early and stacks are getting lower quickly.
People jumped at the chance to get the cheaper cases and even lined up before the winery opened in the morning.
"We advertise for that. There was a line out the door at 11am and it's been flying off our shelves for gifts," said Sarah Machiela, Tagaris manager.
Also, many holiday visitors are choosing to spend their vacation down time enjoying the local fine wines. Tagaris hosted many people for meals and wine tasting.
Tagaris is continuing their $40 case deal through closing Friday and offering other special deals through the month to pick up those holiday shoppers.
