Several Christmas Tree Lots in Yakima and Terrace Heights Benefit Good Causes.

YAKIMA, WA - After Thanksgiving, the nation turns its attention to Christmas.

Local Christmas tree lots are now open. Two lots in Yakima are benefiting Davis and Eisenhower High Schools.

The Davis High School trees help support the sports teams while the Ike lot benefits the school band.

Students said this event is important for both schools.

"It brings the Christmas cheer, helps you get a good tree into your living room and supports a great cause," said Sydney Allen, Davis High School Student.

"All the money that the students make from this, it all goes to help paying for our trips like when we go to Disneyland this year, in three years when we go to Spain. And it helps pay for the band whenever we go on marching band competitions," said Marco Snaves, Ike's Marching Band Member.

Both lots are open every day until they run out of trees.

And another Christmas tree lot in Terrace Heights is benefiting the Lions Club and a local boy scout troupe.

Saturday, the lot sold 33 Christmas trees and made more than $1,000.

More than 150 Christmas trees are still left for sale until December 21st.
