Details: Holiday Weekend Burglaries Connected

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, WA - NBC Right Now is tracking an ongoing string of burglaries in the Kennewick area. Police say seven more businesses were broken into over the holiday weekend.

Many of them happened right next to each other. Police tell us these cases appear to be connected, but they believe there is more than one suspect. Jack's Superior Auto Body told police that someone burglarized several vehicles from inside their fenced-in lot. Someone broke through their gate and it was caught on their surveillance cameras. Police say someone then drove a stolen car next door to Accurate Automotive and went through one of their vehicles also.

"If you've had a crime committed against you or your business, call and let us investigate it," said Sgt. Ken Lattin of the Kennewick Police Department. "It is common that many crimes go unreported and we don't want that in this case. We want to investigate all of them, because there may be that one clue that will really break the case open for us."

Kennewick is not the only area getting hit by these burglaries. Police are working with other agencies around the state. One truck recovered in Kennewick was stolen from an auto lot in Cheney.
