YAKIMA, WA. -- More than 40 Catholic Churches in the Yakima Diocese are now fundraising for their Christmas Charity Campaign. It's all part of a statewide fundraiser to help women going through the emotions of an unplanned pregnancy.
Monday, the church sent out a letter requesting donations. The church says this yearly fundraiser highlights the generosity of the Yakima Community.
"For them it's a way that they can participate in the mission of the agency by bringing hope to life, especially for those most in need," John Young, President of Catholic Charities said.
The Yakima Chapter hopes to raise more than $200,000 for the statewide campaign. Catholic Churches around the area will collect donations during Christmas Mass.
