CWU Chimpanzees Doing Well at Sanctuary in Canada

Posted: Updated:

ELLENSBURG, WA - Two chimpanzees that used sign-language at a Central Washington University institute are reportedly doing well in their new home in Canada.

Tatu and Loulis moved back in August from Ellensburg to the Fauna Foundation sanctuary in Quebec. They now live in ample space with about a dozen other chimpanzees.

The two chimps from CWU were the last of five that lived at the Chimpanzee and Human Communication Institute, which has been discontinued.
