Santa Comes To Yakima A Few Weeks Early This Year

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, WA-- Kids in Yakima will get a chance to see Santa a little bit early this weekend.

The Yakima Greenway will host their first Santa and Me Holiday Tea Party on Saturday.

The event will raise money for the Kiddin' Around program through the Greenway, which helps fight childhood obesity and provide a healthy lifestyle for kids.

Organizers said without these kinds of fundraisers, the program can not be successful.

"This program is through the Yakima Greenway, it's a non-profit to provide free programs throughout the summer to help combat childhood obesity, so its really great to get physically active and we can only provide those free programs by doing these such fundraisers," said program coordinator, Felicia Sanchez.

Tickets are on sale online right now for $30.00, or by calling the Yakima Greenway Foundation.

The tickets include food, a picture with Santa, a visit from the Grinch, musical entertainment and a free gift.
