YAKIMA, WA. -- A Yakima Valley Credit Union wants to make hospital stays a little less daunting for local kids.

Solarity Credit Union donated two checks totaling over $21,000 to the Pediatrics Unit at Memorial Hospital. A wagon full of toys was given to the hospital for children during treatment. The hospital says generosity like this can go a long way.

"(It helps us) to reach children in the valley and to offer services we've never been able to do before," Medical Director Kerry Harthcock. "Checks like this really help."

Memorial Hospital plans to use the wagon to move pediatric patients in and out of the hospital, offering a more enjoyable experience to the children.
