Construction Project Could Bring More Money To Tri-Cities

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, WA - A new construction project could bring more money to the Tri-Cities.

This week they will be breaking ground on a new hotel located right next to the Three Rivers Convention Center. On Tuesday workers were already digging test holes to see what exactly is underneath what is now part of the parking lot. A Convention Center Spokesperson tells us the hotel will open up doors to more business.

"Every convention here that we bring to town are just more dollars for the entire community," said Corey Pearson the Executive Director of Three Rivers Campus. "It is all outside dollars, outside visitors that we bring here for 3, 4 and 5 days. This hotel is going to help us complete our mission that we began in 2004."

The official ground breaking ceremony will be this Thursday morning at 11. Construction is scheduled to wrap up in one year, with the hotel ready to open its doors to visitors.
