CREHST Museum Auctioning 'Snow Village' Collection Sets

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, WA - The CREHST Museum in Richland is getting into the holiday spirit and they want you to take some of that cheer home.

The museum is featuring nearly 40 sets of vintage Christmas "Snow Village" houses donated  by three local families. Many of the pieces are from the Department 56 Dickens Collection.

The entire set is valued at around $1,800, but the houses are up for bid in a silent auction through the beginning of January. Individual pieces are valued as low as $10 and as high as $300.

"We've got some pieces that you wouldn't really see in a 'Snow Village,' necessarily. We've got Kensington Palace, the Tower of London and some pieces that are from Great Britain. So, it's a little different than what we had last year," said Aaron Loehndorf, an education specialist at the museum.

Last year's auction brought in more than $4,000. The collection will be on display through the holidays.
