RICHLAND, WA. - A group of apprentice electricians are paying it forward to help the community.

The IBEW's 5th year apprenticeship class delivered a $5,000 check Wednesday to the Arc of the Tri-Cities. The Arc is a non-profit group that helps people with developmental disabilities in our area.

The apprentices say the Arc holds a special place in their heart.

"We've been pretty fortunate in the area to have a lot of work, and we wanted to pay it forward to the community. A lot of us have been affected positively by the Arc, and it was local within the community so it just seemed like a good fit," said Cherif Megahed, Apprentice Electrician.

The apprenticeship class is made up of eleven individuals who participated in various fundraisers throughout the year.
