Arrest Made in Downtown Restaurant Burglary

Walla Walla Police have arrested the suspect in the burglary of Graze Restaurant, 5 S. Colville. The business was entered during the early morning hours of November 29th by a lone male. Entry to the business was made by breaking out the front door glass. Once inside, the suspect stole food items and cash totaling in excess of $750.

Surveillance cameras provided still shots of the suspect who was immediately identified as Robert W. Phillips, 48, Walla Walla. An "Attempt to Locate" bulletin was issued a short time later.

Phillips was arrested without incident Tuesday evening at about 7:30 near the intersection of 5th Avenue and Birch Streets. He was lodged at the Walla Walla County Jail on probable cause for 2nd Degree Burglary, 2nd Degree Theft, and 3rd Degree Malicious Mischief.

Phillips has been arrested in excess of 50 times since 1984 and has 45 convictions on his record. Bail was set at $100,000 during his 1st appearance on the charges in Walla Walla County Superior Court.
