YAKIMA, WA-- A lot of people are starting to decorate their homes for the holidays, and this year you can save a lot on your energy bill if you are smart about your decorating.

Store like the Home Depot offer many different kinds of LED Christmas lights and pre-lit Christmas trees to help you save some money while making your house look festive during the season.

They said by using energy efficient lights, you will see big savings on your next energy bill.

"Yes, most of the LEDs are going to take about 70% less energy than your standard incandescent lighting always did," said Cathy Penny from the Yakima Home Depot.

LED lights also last about 23-years longer than traditional incandescent lights which will save money in the long run on replacements.

Even the Capitol and Rockefeller Center are using energy saving LED lights for their holiday decorations this year.
