LOOK: 20 Years Of Commemorative Airplane Art From Spokane International Airport

SPOKANE, Wash. - Many airlines have commemorative art they display on their airplanes to pay tribute to various things. Over the past 20 years, KHQ's Reed Schmitt has had a hobby of photographing planes as the fly in and out of Spokane International Airport. Reed sorted through over 30,000 photos to gather all of the planes he photographed that displayed commemorative art.

Some feature the logos of universities in the cities they serve, others are based on the flags of the states they fly to. Some are retro liveries which depict the airlines' early looks or an airline that they merged with. A couple paint schemes feature pro sports teams. There are even Disney characters, a giant salmon and an orca as well.

(AP) - Authorities say a man who had been arguing with a woman in Alabama threw an exercise weight through a car window, striking and fatally injuring their 2-year-old daughter.    Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Randy Christian tells AL.com that deputies responded to a domestic violence report Saturday and found Laila Reid unresponsive with injuries to the head and face.
