Women's Opportunity Award, our signature Scholarship Project, is funds for women head-of-households re-entering the work force seeking either an undergraduate degree or a skills training program, and can demonstrate financial need. We will be awarding a first place winner at $2,000 and a second place winner at $1,000. Deadline for applications is December 15, 2013. Applications will be available at CBC Financial Aid office and WSU-TC.
Professional-Technical Award presents an opportunity to women who are seeking a technical degree or certificate, other than an academic degree. Two winners will be selected; a first place at $2,000 and a second place winner at $1,000. Deadline for applications is January 15, 2014. Applications will be available at CBC Resource Center and Financial Aid office.
Fellowship Award provides opportunity for women established in business or one of the professions; conducts her business or profession competently and according to ethical standards; holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree and presents a plan of worthwhile postgraduate study leading to an advanced degree, standing or competence in her business and profession. A winner of $2,000 will be awarded. Deadline for applications is January 10, 2014. Applications will be available through the WSU-TC.
Helen Cox Business Award was established by Helen Cox, a dynamic woman who had been a Soroptimist for over 50 years. She had wanted to encourage, promote and provide the opportunity to a woman currently pursuing an undergraduate degree, accepted into a business or business related major with at least a Jr. standing. Criteria for the Helen Cox scholarship is an exceptional woman accepted into a business or accounting related major (Jr. standing) who has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and presents a plan to maximize her career potential. A winner of $2,000 will be selected. Deadline for applications is January 15, 2014. Applications will be available through the WSU-TC.
