KENNEWICK, WA - Kennewick police believe a missing 14-year-old girl or the 19-year-old man suspected of abducting her have tried to contact friends since an Amber alert was issued last week.

Police say someone in the Tri-Cities knows something and police just want to make sure the girl is safe.

Police say the two met through Facebook. The girl was last seen Wednesday getting into his car. Both have family in Mexico, and Lattin says it's possible they have crossed the border.

KENNEWICK, WA - Kennewick Police say there is now an arrest warrant in the system for man suspected of kidnapping a teenage girl in an active AMBER Alert.

Kennewick Police say 19-year-old Edwardo Fabian Flores Rosales is wanted for Kidnapping 2nd degree.

Officers say Rosales is from Hood River Oregon, and has been in the Kennewick area for less than a month. His family in Hood River says Rosales claims he left home on Thanksgiving to move to Kennewick to work at a new job.

Police say they believe Rosales met 14-year-old Elizabeth Romero on Facebook, but her account was deleted before the investigation began.

Officers say the dark green Ford Escape that Rosales is driving, actually belongs to his brother, from Hood River.

Police say the behaviors Rosales is showing are consistent with an adult man grooming a young girl for abduction.

Officers say while the girl willingly got into the car, they strongly believe that she is in danger.

The local FBI Violent Crimes Task Force is now the lead agency in this investigation with the assistance of the Kennewick Police Department.

KENNEWICK, WA. - An Amber Alert has been issued for a 14-year-old girl last seen in Kennewick on Wednesday.

Kennewick police say Elizabeth Romero was last seen at 1800 W. 7th Avenue. Officers say they believe she is in danger. Romero is Hispanic with brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5'03" and 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing a white shirt and dark pants with a backpack and a pink purse.

Police believe Romero is with a 19-year-old man who she calls her boyfriend. They say Romero was last seen leaving school around 11 a.m. and got into Edwardo Fabian Flores Rosales' SUV. Romero's mother reported her as a runaway Wednesday, but on Thursday she received text messages from an unknown number. The text messages stated they were from Elizabeth and said she was heading to Mexico with Rosales. Her mother asked for a picture but she didn't receive one.

Rosales is Hispanic with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5'09" and 225 lbs. Officers say they may be traveling in a dark green, early 2000's Ford Escape with temporary plates.

Police say there is probable cause to arrest Rosales for kidnapping. Officers have alerted the U.S. Border Patrol at the Mexican border.

Anyone with information should call 509-628-0333 immediately.
