PASCO, WA - One of the longest holiday traditions in the Tri-Cities takes place this Saturday.

This will be the 28th year families of Desert Plateau in Pasco will light up their neighborhood with luminaries and other Christmas decorations.

What started out in 1985 with a few neighbors lining their street with candles has become a Tri-Cities spectacle of more than one-thousand decorated homes and 30,000 candle-lit luminaries.

The luminary encompasses miles of streets west of the Tri-City airport, between argent road to the south and Burden to the north.

The Desert Plateau organizing committee says the best way to enter the luminary is from Road 44 off Argent.

They light the candles at 6 p.m. Saturday. The show goes on through midnight.
