The Elf on the shelf has been a Christmas tradition for quite some time, and this year at KHQ, we had our own Elf show up, ready to work. We asked you what we should call our new friend, and pulling from a long tradition of KHQ broadcasting, we decided to call him George. 

You can track all the places George visits here at KHQ and abroad by following this slideshow, which will be updated frequently as George makes his way around the newsroom and Spokane.

The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded Friday after administrators received information that a student had an explosive device.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - This past weekend, thousands of stuffed animals came pouring from the stands at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena during the Spokane Chiefs game. It was all for a good cause. The annual Teddy Bear Toss is a family tradition for so many in our community. After the Chiefs make their first goal, fans can through the stuffed animals onto the ice.
