RICHLAND, WA -This time of year people often wish for peace on earth. Sunday in Richland, people of all faiths came together to pray together.

The Multifaith vigil has been a tradition for decades. It is designed to be a place to speak about peace that's inclusive to everyone. People sang songs, stated what they hope for for the new year and what they were thankful for this year.

"The achievement of world peace requires an aggregation of peace within the hearts of a great many individuals on our country and around the world. So each one of us has an important part to play in that," said Jim Stoffels from World Citizens for Peace.

This was the 28th annual vigil. It originally was a Christmas vigil but following 9-11 they opened it up to people of all faiths and even those who do not practice a religion.
