YAKIMA, WA - Triumph Treatment Services in Yakima is taking any and all donations to fill winter backpacks for the homeless.

The organization said they'll be distributing the backpacks during "National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day" on December 21st.

They're asking for materials like blankets, gloves, scarves and hygiene products.

"It's things that they can keep themselves clean with," said Beth Dannhardt, CEO of Triumph Treatment Services. "They can be comfortable. They can find some place to get a shower, their shampoo and deodorant."

Triumph Treatment Services is hoping to fill 50 backpacks. They said every little bit goes a long way toward helping someone survive the winter.
