YAKIMA, WA - Winter weather is here and that means snow could be right around the corner.

The City of Yakima wants to remind businesses and residents that as the snow falls, it is their responsibility to keep their sidewalks clear.

The city says the best way to keep ice from forming is to shovel the snow when it first falls. But if the sidewalk does become icy, do not use rock salt because the chemicals can chip and crack the concrete.
