NBCRightNow.com - Mega Millions fever is sweeping the country once again as the jackpot continues to grow and could become the largest in U.S. history.

We had some pretty mixed reactions when we hit the streets and asked some locals how they would spend the nearly 600 million dollars. Some said they would spend all the money on themselves, buying houses, boats or exotic vacations. With strong ticket sales if no one wins the jackpot Tuesday night when the numbers are drawn it could go up enough to break records. The reason why no one has won it for months now is because the game changed in October and so did the odds. They went up from one in 176 million to one in 259 million. The people we met Monday were still hopeful that maybe they would be the ones to break the streak.

"I'd get some new blue jeans," said one man.

"I would donate some to the leukemia and lymphoma foundation," said a mother.

"If I had it I'd make a lot of happy people. I'd donate to all kinds of causes. It's way too much money for one person," explained another man.

If sales stay strong the jackpot could break last year's record of 656 million dollars.
