Tri-Cities Cable Bridge Run Entry Deadline Wednesday

PASCO, WA. – If you want to take part in Saturday's Lampson Cable Bridge Run, you must register by Wednesday, December 18.

This is the 35th year of the race, which includes a one-mile, 5k and 10k run. All three runs start at 9 a.m. Saturday, December 21 at the Lampson building on the Kennewick side of the bridge.

Registration is $28, which includes this year's long-sleeved shirt. Without the shirt, registration is $23.

There are changes this year. Pasco Recreation Services says no parking will be allowed at the starting line. Ben Franklin Transit will shuttle runners to and from the Benton Franklin County Fairgrounds.

Shuttles to the starting line begin at 6:30 a.m. the last shuttle before the races start leaves at 8:15 a.m. After the races, shuttles returning racers to the fairgrounds begin at 10 a.m. The last shuttle leaves at noon.

Race organizers say if runners have someone picking them up at the finish they will not be able to leave until the racecourse is clear.

All runners will use chip timing. The chips must be returned at the end of the race to avoid a $25 replacement fee.

The race begins with Santa signaling the start, and ends with beverages including the traditional hot Dr.. Pepper. There are also prizes, and adult beverages available with proof of identification.

The first six winners in each age division receive ribbons. Overall winners receive gift certificates.

Runners can pick up race packets and timing chips from noon to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 20 at the Lampson Building, 607 e. Columbia Drive in Kennewick.
