YAKIMA, WA - Construction workers at Davis High School in Yakima take a break from building and start giving.

Absher Construction delivered 50 baskets of food to Davis families on Thursday. Employees said they're more than happy to take part in the generosity that seems to fill almost every community during the holiday season.

"Especially this time of year," said John Vandervate with Absher Construction. "It's cold. It's hard on people. This is the worst time of the year for the economy and things like that. So there's a lot of need and I think people step up and take care of that."

Absher employees said this is part of their "Holiday Lights" giving program. Every year, the company supports families in the communities they work in.
