SPOKANE, Wash. - Emergency crews were called to the area of Maple and Joseph Thursday night after a car slammed into a house.

Witnesses tell KHQ the driver of the car was heading north on Maple and instead of curving with the road, he kept on going, went over an island, and drove straight into a house. Witnesses say they didn't even see the car brake.

We are told the driver of the car will be transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. The passenger in the car may have suffered a concussion.

No one was inside the home at the time.

The damage to the inside of the home is extensive. There are cracks throughout the home, even on the other end of the house and in the basement. Alana Scott owns the home and lives there with her 10-year-old daughter. She and her daughter were told it may be up to two months before the home is repaired. Thursday night they stayed in a hotel and Scott is working with her insurance company to see where she and her daughter can stay until the home gets fixed.

With Christmas only days away, this accident couldn't have come at a worse time as they will no longer be able to be home for Christmas. However, even if they could be home for Christmas, Scott doesn't know if she would be able to sleep at night for fear this will happen again.

This is the 3rd time in the last year her home has been hit by a car. She asked the city if she could put up some sort of wall after her home was hit the first time, but was told she couldn't because it would obstruct the view of drivers since her home is on a corner.

"I don't feel safe staying here. This doesn't feel like a home. I shouldn't have to worry about cars running into my house. Our bedrooms are along the side of the house that keeps getting hit. What if we had been home sleeping when this happened? It's not safe to stay here."

Police are still investigating what may have caused the crash and as soon as we get any additional information we will update you.

SPOKANE, Wash. - It's not a typical place you'd see a rollover crash, but a red SUV rolled onto its side, shattering the windshield, in a crash at Sprague and Freya on Tuesday just before noon. Police say a blue SUV (not pictured) attempted to make a left hand turn where it's not permitted, and while crossing traffic, he t-boned the red SUV.
