SPOKANE VALLEY - An early morning attempted traffic stop near Argonne Rd. Friday developed into a nearly four hour standoff near E. Harrington Ave. & N. Dick Rd.

Authorities said when they tried to pull over a vehicle around midnight the man did not stop. Local law enforcement pursued the driver, who jumped out of his moving car. The car then crashed into a fence.

Authorities told KHQ the man jumped a fence and ran into a home near Harrington Ave. & Dick Rd. A SWAT team was called in, as well as a K-9 unit. The K-9 unit did not find anything in the area surrounding the house.

SWAT used flash-bang grenades and searched the home with a robot before a K-9 team entered the house just before 4 A.M. The man inside fled out the back of the house shortly after, where he was arrested.

He has been identified as 28-year-old Jeremy Brown.

We will update this story as we receive more information, and a release from local law enforcement officials.

SEATTLE, Wash. - A new study of Seattle's $15-an-hour minimum wage law says it costs jobs, contrary to another new study released last week. The Seattle Times reports a University of Washington team found the law boosted pay in low-wage jobs since 2014  but that it also caused a 9 percent reduction in hours worked. For an average low-wage Seattle worker, that's a loss of about $125 per month.
