SPOKANE VALLEY - An early morning attempted traffic stop near Argonne Rd. Friday developed into a nearly four hour standoff near E. Harrington Ave. & N. Dick Rd.

Authorities said when they tried to pull over a vehicle around midnight the man did not stop. Local law enforcement pursued the driver, who jumped out of his moving car. The car then crashed into a fence.

Authorities told KHQ the man jumped a fence and ran into a home near Harrington Ave. & Dick Rd. A SWAT team was called in, as well as a K-9 unit. The K-9 unit did not find anything in the area surrounding the house.

SWAT used flash-bang grenades and searched the home with a robot before a K-9 team entered the house just before 4 A.M. The man inside fled out the back of the house shortly after, where he was arrested.

He has been identified as 28-year-old Jeremy Brown.

We will update this story as we receive more information, and a release from local law enforcement officials.

SPOKANE, Wash. - As the weather starts to heat up, so do the calls about property crime citywide. Thieves stealing anything they can get their hands on. "A lot of the cars just around this block, and the ones most notably underneath the railroad tracks, have been getting broken into really all spring and leading now into the summer,"  said Dave Buescher.
