WALLA WALLA, WA - Firefighters in Walla Walla are trying to figure out what caused a fire that forced five people out of their home.

Firefighters say around 12:30 Thursday afternoon, three adults and two children had to evacuate from the home on 9th Avenue because of a fire.

Firefighters did a fast attack through the front door to extinguish the fire which had extended into the walls and crawl space.

The Fire Department says the home is not habitable, and the family does not have home insurance.

The Red Cross has stepped in to help.
