Waitsburg Teacher Wins Presidential Award for Excellence

WAITSBURG, WA - A science teacher from Waitsburg is getting national attention.
 
President Obama today named 102 math and science teachers winners of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
 
Waitsburg kindergarten teacher Pamela Nolan-Beasley is one of two from Washington State.
 
Each winner gets $10,000 from the National Science Foundation, and is invited to Washington DC later next year for an awards ceremony and several days of educational and celebratory events.
 
They'll also get to visit with members of Congress and President Obama's administration.
