Most stores try to make it easy for shoppers to get a refund, but a survey by consumerworld.org has found that a few big name retailers now have stricter return policies, especially for electronics and appliances.
Best Buy has shortened its holiday return period by nine days to January 15th instead of January 24th, and shoppers can no longer get refunds on special orders.
Sears has shortened its return policy for major appliances from 60 to 30 days.
Toys R Us shortened the return window on certain electronics from 45 to 30 days for purchases on or after November 1st.
Sports Authority is one of the few stores that won't allow store returns on items purchased online.
