PENDLETON, OR - Pendleton's Saint Anthony Hospital opened back in 1902. Now more than 110 years later, the city has a brand new facility.
It is a beautiful brand new 100,000 square foot facility, sitting on 93 acres in Pendleton's south-gate area. On Friday, employees transported the last patient ever from the old building to this new one.
The $70 million project has been years in the making and the staff got to help design the new facility which helped with it's functionality. Another big improvement is the old Saint Anthony sat on just nine acres while the new site is ten times as big.
"With patient care the way it is, a lot of out patient care, we have 93 acres here now and two buildings. Medical office building and the hospital. But we have room for growth, if we need growth, we've got the room to go bigger," said Larry Blanc, Saint Anthony Hospital.
