YAKIMA, WA - The Union Gospel Mission in Yakima is serving their residents a hot meal and giving them gifts Tuesday night.
For more than 70-years they have been giving hot meals, gifts and the basics to families who live at the mission during the holiday season.
Organizers said they do this every year because they want everyone to have a good holiday, even when they can't afford it.
"Well you know everybody has a good time on Christmas, if they're able. If they're not very able and they've lost their job it's difficult so we would like to be able to help them do something and at the same time let them know we do care about them," said Marvin Lindley from the Yakima Union Gospel Mission.
They are also giving out personal hygiene items as well for those who are not able to buy them for themselves at the mission.
On Wednesday they will also have a Christmas lunch.
