NBCRightNow.com - Oregon Police say there were no traffic deaths in the state between Christmas Eve and Christmas day.

Police troopers say that's the second time since 1970 with no holiday deaths, the other was in 1996.

The deadliest holiday in Oregon was in 1983 when 10 people died in Christmas crashes.

Police looked at a 30-hour period for the numbers. This year it began at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve, a few hours after one traffic-related death in Multnomah County. The period ended at midnight on Wednesday night.
