KENNEWICK, WA - The Tri-Cities will ring in the new year in a new location. The annual First Night Tri-Cities event will set up at the Three Rivers Convention Center to bring all of the events' family friendly activities under one roof.
It starts at 4 p.m. on Tuesday with public skating at the Toyota Arena. There will be bouncy houses, games, crafts, live music and even fireworks after the midnight ball drop.
"Basically it was in response to fan requests. We've been at CBC, a fantastic venue with fantastic people, for five years and the one request that we had, is could we get it somewhere where we're all inside, not having to move from building to building," said First Night Tri-Cities Vice President Debbie Hodge.
The Americans will also host the Spokane Chiefs at 7:05 in the Toyota Center right next door.
To make sure there is enough parking, organizers are offering a free shuttle service from the Benton County Justice Center and the Hobby Lobby parking lot. The shuttle will pick people up and drop them off between 6:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. on New Year's Eve.
