Date and Time of Incident: December 28, 2013 at 5:07pm

Location of Incident: 705 W. 43rd Ave.

Summary of Incident:

The Kennewick Fire Department responded to a Residential Structure Fire (RSF) at about 5:07pm on the evening of December 28, 2013.  A neighbor who lived across the street from 705 W. 43rd Ave. reported seeing smoke coming from the garage and immediately called 911.  The first arriving Engine reported a fire in the garage which was spreading into the home and the attic.  There were no occupants home at the time of the fire and the fire was quickly contained.  The majority of the fire damage was to the garage and portions of the attic and kitchen but Firefighters were able to protect and salvage the occupant's belongings in the living area of the home.  The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The Red Cross is currently assisting the family.

The Kennewick Fire Department was assisted by units from Benton County  Fire District 1, Franklin County Fire District 3, the Benton PUD, Red Cross and the Kennewick Police Department.
