13-41429 – Auto Theft Attempt / 2401 S Irving
David Long reported, sometime during the night, an unknown suspect entered his 1993 green Honda Accord, WA License plate 042WKN. Nothing was taken however he did note there was damage to the ignition. It appears as if the subject might have been attempting to steal the vehicle.

13-41442 – Auto Theft / 8032 W. Hood Ave
Michael Lye reported that sometime between 0610 hours and 0815 hours, his silver colored 1997 Honda Accord (436-ZGR) was taken. It was parked in front of his residence and was locked.

The Kennewick Police again remind citizens to be on the lookout for suspicious persons in their neighborhood. The majority of these thefts were targeted towards Honda's with the exception of the $70,000 work truck. Additionally, license plates were stolen. This is a common method for car thieves to steal license plates to then place on stolen cars to make it more difficult to detect a stolen car. We encourage everyone today to check their vehicles and make sure that their license plates on both the front and rear are still intact.
