BENTON CITY, WA - Time is running out to help a local nonprofit that provides low cost pet spay and neuter services.

Prevent Homeless Pets is based in Benton City.

They recently got a matching grant for $12,000 toward their annual fund drive.

That means every dollar they raise is doubled, but they only have until the end of the year.

Director of the organization, Harriet Johnson said, "We have a good time at our clinics, and we know what we do is important so every one is an important goal. The old saying is we try to make a difference one cat or dog at a time."

Since their beginning in 2009, Prevent Homeless Pets workers say they've spayed or neutered over 7,500 animals.

To donate, go to http://preventhomelesspets.org/ before January 1st.
