YAKIMA, WA - A Yakima man accused of killing another man said he is innocent.

Police said 22-year-old Angel Venegas shot 27-year-old Joshua Mathis of Prosser twice in the head at the Red Apple Motel in October.

Police searched for Venegas for several months. He was found hiding in a shed near Toppenish.

Venegas pleaded not guilty at a court hearing Monday. His trial is scheduled to begin in February.
