Yakima Law and Justice Center Past Capacity; Looking to Expand
The Yakima Police Department needs more room to work.
YAKIMA, WA - The Yakima Police Department needs more room to work.
According to city documents, the Law and Justice Center is exceeding capacity for an efficient workspace. The Yakima City Manager says they hope to expand the existing building to accommodate employees for years to come.
"We think there's sufficient space there to expand the footprint of that building and that would be a win win scenario for the city and the community," City Manager Tony O'Rourke said.
The city council is expected to approve a $40,000 space needs assessment study to look into how to expand the building.
