UPDATE/YAKIMA, WA - Two Yakima students couldn't be more excited to learn from top professionals in their craft.

Mackenzie Taylor and Kyle Hitchcock both sing classically, and their vocals landed them a prestigious opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Taylor and Hitchcock are the only two selected from Washington State. They said it's like a dream come true and Carnegie Hall can only further their musical careers.

"I think going to New York is just going to push me to do what I want to do because as a singer that's where you want to be and that's where you want to go," said Hitchcock.

"It's a great motivation to kind of finally get something big and go and do something really confidence boosting," said Taylor.

The two will perform at Carnegie Hall in February with the National Honors Choir.

YAKIMA, WA - Two talented students at Davis High School made the cut out of thousands who auditioned for the 2014 High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall.

Senior Kyle Hitchcock and Freshman Mackenzie Taylor are the only two students from Washington State who made it.

They'll learn from top master conductors and work with other finalists in New York City.
