PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) - The manager of a now-defunct motel in Pendleton has agreed to provide basic services to remaining tenants.

Rodeo City Inn manager Drew Osias agreed to provide drinking water and portable toilets after a Umatilla County Circuit Court judge ordered both sides to reach a compromise Tuesday.

The 52-room inn closed last week after a county board labeled it a nuisance property, but at least a couple dozen people still live there.

Some tenants sought a court order requiring the motel to provide basic services. Tenants have been without water since early December when pipes froze and burst.

An attorney for the county, Doug Olsen, said a sale of the inn is pending. He says the new owner would be responsible for evicting residents.
