KENNEWICK, WA - Kennewick Police have arrested two people in connection with two stolen cars found this week in Kennewick.

On December 31st, detectives with the Kennewick Police Department Criminal Apprehension Team found an 1997 Honda Accord, which had been stolen. The car was parked in the parking lot of the Park Ridge Apartments, with the driver standing near the car.

The detectives tried to talk the driver of the stolen Honda Accord, but the driver jumped inside the car and sped off. When the stolen Honda Accord pulled onto Hood Street, the drier lost control on the slick road and hit a parked vehicle. The driver left the scene on foot and wasn't caught.

On January 1st, Kennewick CAT detectives found another stolen vehicle, which was another 1997 Honda Accord. This time, the car was being driven on State Route 395 at 19th Avenue. This time, officers stopped the vehicle and two people were arrested without incident.

The driver was identified as 32-year-old Brittany Godwin and the passenger was 22-year-old Casey Mallonee. Both were booked into the Benton County Jail for possession of a stolen auto.

On both 1997 Honda Accords, the ignitions had been damaged.
