NBCRightNow.com  - The GED testing service said they are revealing their new test for people who want to get their high school diploma on Thursday.

All but nine states will be changing the test. Washington, Oregon and Idaho are three states that will be making the change.

Test makers said the last time they made revisions to the GED was back in 2002, and now the changes will not only determine if someone is ready to get their high school diploma, but will also determine their college and career readiness.

You can expect to see changes to all four categories on the test, which covers literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies.

The tests will eliminate some of the more complex math assessments and add more statistical analysis and text analysis to the science and social studies tests.

Even the scoring will be different.  All four sections will be graded on a scale of 100 to 200.

A score of is now 150 the passing grade on each section to receive a high school diploma, 170 to be considered college or career ready.
