The body of a young woman is found in Walla Walla County and officers are investigating it as a homicide.
UPDATE/WALLA WALLA, WA - As soon as we reported the body found was identified as Yesica Olivos, an Internet campaign began.
People in Walla Walla are putting together donation boxes and bringing them to local businesses to collect funeral funds. An autopsy report reveals that olivos was killed by a gunshot wound. A white cross already stands at the site near beet road where her body was found along with candles and fresh flowers. Olivos had been a student at Walla Walla Community College and graduated from Walla Walla High School.
"You just can't imagine the pain that a family is going through at this point and you just ache for them. It's just so tragic, impacts many people and our hearts just go out to her family," said Walla Walla Schools Superintendent Mick Miller.
In community face book groups, local businesses are asking that donation boxes be brought to their locations. Posts of condolences flood the comment section. Olivos's family has requested some privacy at this time as they are just beginning to grieve for this young woman.
WALLA WALLA, WA - The Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office confirms the identity of a young woman found dead along a county road on Friday morning.
20-year-old Yesica Olivos, of Walla Walla, died of gunshot wound, according to the coroner.

It's very early in the investigation but officers do believe the woman, either a Hispanic or white female in her 20's or 30's, is from the Walla Walla area.
A man driving by found the woman around 10 a.m. Friday in a ravine at the intersection of Mojonnier and Beet Roads. Officers said there were other pieces of evidence at the scene they could not share just yet.
At this time, it is unknown how the young woman died or when and nobody had been reported missing.
"Generally speaking, if somebody is found at the bottom of a ravine, fully clothed and that type of thing in a very odd and peculiar position, we're going to go ahead on the assumption that it is a homicide. If it turns out not to be, we always want to make sure that we take all precautions," said Chief Deputy John King with the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office.
The roadway was closed for much of the afternoon as Walla Walla Police, the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office and Washington State Patrol investigated. They hoped to have it back open by six p.m.

All traffic is being diverted while detectives investigate the scene. They say it could take several hours to complete.
